Our Products

Our second collection is a special collaboration with our Japanese artist/attorney friend, Yuki Kitamura (北村由妃､ 弁護士).

Deeply inspired by our recent trip to Japan, where our Creator participated in Seiya Ueno’s (上野星矢) Flute Celebration 2024: Opera.

It was also an experience with depth of local traditions and cultures as well as a wonderful opportunity to visit long-time family friends, now spanning three generations.

Yuki Kitamura 北村由妃

Yuki Kitamura, an attorney at law with over 10 years of experience specialising in inheritance and real estate laws and is dedicated to providing compassionate and effective legal counselling.

She is known for her friendly character and her easy-to-understand explanations through the use of whiteboards.

During her free time, she enjoys doodling. The doodles are often found on sticky notes with her instructions to the staff at her law firm to help facilitate clarifications.

北村由妃は10年以上の経験を持つ弁護士である。

相続・不動産法務に精通し、親身で効果的な法的サービスを心がけている。 気さくな人柄とホワイトボードを使ったわかりやすい説明に定評がある。

仕事の合間にちょっとした絵を描くのが趣味で、事務所スタッフへの指示を書く付箋には、いつも小さな落書きがされている。

What is Kachi-Iro (勝ち色)?

“Kachi” derived from 勝ち is the colour of the Samurais and the symbol of Victory. A traditional colour of Japan and an auspicious colour and specific hue beloved by the legendary warriors as a symbol of strength and power.

Kachi-iro is also the darkest colour in the traditional Japanese indigo dyeing process.

「【褐色】の読み方は『かちいろ』。日本の伝統的な染色技法に『藍染』がありますが、【褐色】は、その藍染の中で最も濃く染めた色のことです。『かち』という色名は、ほぼ黒に近い【藍色】に染めるために、藍と布を臼（うす）に入れて、何度も何度も搗（か）つ（打つ、たたく）ことから来ています。江戸時代には『かちんいろ』とも呼ばれていたそうですよ。

【褐色】は、その音の響きが『勝ち』に通じることから、『勝色』、『活色』などの字を当てて使われることもありました。戦に勝つ縁起のいい色として、武士は鎧（よろい）などの武具によく使ったのだそう。これは遠い昔に限った話ではなく、近代になってからも、日清・日露戦争の時に、『 勝色（かちいろ）』として、軍服に【褐色】が用いられました 」
